HIV/Aids

In Africa there is a serious epidemic of Aids/HIV. About 22 million people are infected with Aids totaling two thirds of the entire infected population. The life expectency in several African countries is decreasing quickly. By 2010 another 24 million people in Africa infected with Aids are expected to die. More than 80% of Aids deaths in Africa have occured in Sub Sahara Africa. Also, orphan numbers are rapidly rising because many parents are dying from Aids. Therefore, poverty increases because too many children are left uncared for overwelming the orphanages. Luckily, global funds and many countries have stepped up to help African communities infected with Aids. http://www.globalissues.org/article/90/aids-in-africa
